Advantage of freelancing- If you are weighing in on the pros and cons of becoming a freelancer, here are some things to consider. Do you presently have a boss that is over bearing and a control freak? Would it not be better to be the boss yourself for a longer and more relaxing life? By being a freelancer you would be setting your own hours. If you need time off, there is no need to ask your boss, just take it as long as all of your commitments are met, there will never be a problem.

For those working that 9 to 5 job, the job is more realistically a 6 to 6 job because of the commute. By working as an independent contractor, this dead time driving could be eliminated. Like all of us. We get out of bed and then the commonality changes. If you work for a company you need to get dressed and leave for work on time every day or risk being fired or laid off. The freelancer has to roll out of bed, makes coffee, turns the computer to check for any messages from clients, and then go outside and enjoy the breeze while drinking your coffee. No breathing fumes from someone else’s tailpipes along with the horn honking and the possibility of being hit or a flat tire. Just listen to the birds sing and watch all the other people in your neighborhood leave you in peace. If that sounds nice, explore the possibilities of being a freelancer.

There are some responsibilities that you must take on when you are a freelancer. By setting your own hours, you and you alone are responsible for completing the projects on time. But this can be done where you want to, how you want to, and wearing what you want. In this job, wearing your underwear to work is not a crime. Waking up early or working late is your choice, just as long as you get the work done. If an emergency arises, the only requirement to take care of it would be to save your work so it is not lost. No paper work to fill out and no need to ask for permission if you need to take care of something else, just do it.

The best advantage is all the extra time you will have on your hands because you decide when to work. The job security is up to you and the quality of work that is produced. No longer do you have to worry about your job being outsourced or a budget cut requiring a staff reduction. You decide how much you work and for how long.
When you love your work it shows and a freelancer is more productive than any other type of worker. The better quality the work output is, the higher you can demand from your clients in payment. If a client is too much trouble and you have enough other clients, you can just stop accepting their assignments. The choice is yours and your financial situation.

Just think about it, as a freelancer you set the hours you work, type of work, the pay rate for the work and how long you work each day. This is a job where the amount of work you put into it is directly proportional to what you will get out of it.
